Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
You must first realize that you are a sinner. No matter how "good" a person must be everyone has fallen short of God's glory and fellowship with Him.
Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death: but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
As a sinner, your "payment" for sin is death. This is concluded with separation from God and an eternity in the Lake of Fire.
Hebrews 9:27 “ . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” .
Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us"
But God love you so much that he sent His only Son to pay the ultimate penalty by bearing your sin and dying in your place so that you might once again be able to have a life with Him for all eternity. Jesus Christ became our substitute so that we might live in Him.
Romans 10:13 "for whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
All you have to do is accept the fact that Christ has paid the penalty for you and accept His forgiveness for sins.
Whosoever includes you. Shall be saved means not maybe, nor can, but shall be saved.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Simply believe on Him as the one who bore your sin, died in your place, was buried, and whom God resurrected. His resurrection powerfully assures that the believer can claim everlasting life when Jesus is received as Savior.
Just pray: “Oh God, I know I am a sinner. I believe Jesus was my substitute when He died on the Cross. I believe His shed blood, death, burial, and resurrection were for me. I now receive Him as my Savior. I thank You for the forgiveness of my sins, the gift of salvation and everlasting life, because of Your merciful grace. Amen.”
If you have found this to be helpful and have accepted Christ as your Saviour, we at Highland Baptist Church would love to hear about it and be of further help to you in learning more about Christ and His Word. |
